What kind of information is being posted by the library accounts above? What kind of information should libraries post?

I think the posts by the departments and branches is excellent because they are all about promoting the library. What a great marketing tool!

Do you see any practical applications for LibraryThing either at home or at work? Will you start using this site?

I will totally use Librarything in the future. I have been looking for something like this for years. Totally cool.

Online Productivity Tools

Do you see free online tools like these eventually replacing expensive software like MS Office?


I suspect the free online tools are the future. MS Office is a very expensive program and why pay for it when there are lots of free options that work well.

Flickr & YouTube

Comment on the quality, entertainment value, or usefulness of the content on these sites.

Who doesn't love youtube and flickr! Everything is on youtube. My teenage daughter has learned how to properly apply make up from youtube! I think sharing pictures and videos is one of the best aspects of the internet!

RSS Feeds

Were you able to successfully set up your RSS feed? If not, where did you run into problems? If you were successful, does this make information-gathering more convenient for you?

I had no problems setting up the RSS feeds through bloglines. It was easy to do.

I prefer to spend time looking at websites instead of setting up RSS Feeds. It is just the way I roll.

What do you like about the Google product? What do you dislike? Would you recommend the product to friends and colleagues?

Who doesn't love Google? I never have to ask for directions because I always go to Google maps to figure out my route before I leave the house. I knew Google offered more but I had no idea how useful Google docs is before now.

I can't think of anything I don't like about Google and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Is Facebook useful or a time-waster?

As an avid Facebook user I can say it is a very useful time-waster!

How easy or difficult was it to find articles that needed editing? Were the errors you found factual or grammar / spelling?

I looked up one of my favourite authors, Linda Howard. She has a new book coming out this summer and I added that title to her list of books. It was simple to do.

I also looked up the rubber stamping company Stampin' Up! and was surprised to find nothing on Wikipedia about this Utah based company. I was not ambitious enough to write an article about this company.

What are the advantages of storing, sharing, and tagging web content this way? What are the disadvantages?

The advantage to using Delicious is being able to share my favourite websites with friends. How cool is that! I had no idea! My friends and I share a common hobby and we spend a fair time looking at other's blogs. This will mean we can easily share those blogs back and forth.

I can't see any disadvantages to using Delicious!

What do you hope to learn from CPL 2.0?

I hope to learn more about setting up and customizing blogs, etc.
